Senior Leadership Program (SLP)
The Senior Leadership Program (SLP) is a four week program offered to campers entering 10th, 11th or 12th grade. If accepted into the program, you will participate as a camper while partaking in leadership sessions similar to Camp's staff training. Leadership training sessions are fun, laid back and lead by SLP counselors (usually around a campfire).
The first week of Camp, SLPs will assist trip leaders with Gunflint School (orientation). The SLPs will then travel on a two-night trip where your evenings will be filled with leadership training and practice. The next two weeks of Camp, SLPs will choose from a variety of wilderness trips and use their newly acquied leadership skills to assist the group's trip-leaders. The last week of Camp the SLPs will travel on a special SLP only voyage. This trip changes yearly, but is always a camper favorite and at least five days long.
The SLP is designed to provide a leadership experience to which SLPs can allude to when completing a college or job application (and many have).
Application will be available in October.
Enroll for Sessions 1 or 2 to be considered for the SLP.
SLP is not required to attend Camp as a 10th-12th grader.
