The two remaining trip groups pushed from the camp dock this morning. The first group (top photo) boarded a camp van in route to Tettegouche State Park. Once at the Park they will begin hiking the Superior Hiking Trail 2.1. We break the trail up into sections so as a camper continues to come back to Camp each year, they may someday be able to say they have hiked the entire trail. Click on the photo to follow along as the group hikes this famous trail.
The second group also departed via van, but is only going about halfway down the Gunflint Trail to Flour Lake. They will base camp at Flour Lake and use the hiking trails to explore some of the best views in the boundary waters. They also brought along canoes to fish the surrounding lakes. I have a good feeling this group will come back with tons of photos of fish and amazing sunsets. This group also has a SPOT device, but because they are base camping, they will only turn it on when they venture away from their camp.
