It is hard to believe that we are coming to an end of our fourth and final week of first session. This week has been an awesome one. With great weather and a visit from Camp Birchwood for Girls as the wrapped up their Boundary Waters journey, all campers and guides were anxious for their next adventure.
Today the rest of the groups pushed off the camp dock into the wilderness. The first group is heading into Lake Saganaga with canoes and a motorboat hoping to land some of Sag's famous Lake Trout. They were planning to get a campsite on one of the border islands, which are also known for their blueberry patches.
The second group packed in a camp van on their way to the Devil's Kettle. Once they arrive they will explore the famous falls and plot out some fly-fishing spot in the Brule River's stocked trout stream. It was really cool watching this group practice their fly-casting techniques yesterday in preparation for this adventure.
With the new Delorme emergency/tracking device you will see a number of arrows on the map with the name of the trip next to the arrow. The arrow represents the groups' current locations. If you click on the (+) next to there arrow you will be able to see the route that group has taken up to that point.
