We are just settling back into our cabin after saying final good-nights and we just wanted to let you know that all campers are comfortable in their beds and settling in wonderfully.
The campers arrived at the landing tonight around 7:05 p.m. The vans were slowed a bit by the rain that fell all the way up the North Shore, but the rains stopped exactly as the vans pulled into the end of the Gunflint Trail. It's almost as though Mother Nature knew. She knew we needed rain as it has been dry for over a week, so it rained from Sunday morning to Monday evening (the entire time we did not have any kids in Camp).
There were a lot of smiles as the kids boarded the Barracuda river barge to make the voyage to Camp. It's always so cool to see the friendships that form during that long van ride to Camp.
Once all of the campers made their way to the dining hall, we gathered for a dinner of Chicken Parmesan, pasta, cheese filled breadsticks, and salad bar (with cupcakes for dessert). Campers then received a quick tour of Camp before heading back for cabin time. As we walked around tonight, campers were just getting comfortable in their beds to chat and reflect before lights out.
