From Camp to Superior

July 27, 2015

Typically, we only offer the Grand Portage trip every third year.  This is mostly because of the love-hate relationship most who take this trip convey.  In fact, last session the Grand Portage trip did a skit at campfire summarizing why anyone would actually want to do the Grand Portage.  "Why?"  "To see if we can."

Once again this session has begged for the opportunity to paddle and walk from Camp to the shores of Lake Superior.  The final nine miles is the famous Grand Portage.  Watch the group as they trace the U.S./Canadian border to the Pigeon River and on down the Portage to the Big Lake.  When you click on the photo you will be taken to the group's current location along with all other trips that are departing this week.

Pictured above behind his foam and mesh hat is Timmy S.

To get a closer view of the trip you wish to follow zoom in using the toggle on the upper left side of the map.  If you do not see any of the trips after zooming in, click on the group's name within the list on the left side of the map.  Once the group's name is highlighted you may then hit the "center" icon on the top of the list and that group's current location will show in the center of your screen.

To see where the group has traveled from the time they left Camp, click on the (+) button next to the group's current location on the map and their track will be revealed.
