The most common thing heard on the path as campers and staff arrived back to Camp was: "I can't believe it's almost time to go home." Many campers will be participating in their last day of activities tomorrow as they get ready to head home on Sunday. For about one-half the campers, there is still one week of activities and adventures left.
This week's round of wilderness adventures really brought a lot of energy to the groups. This was evident as the kids and staff got back to Camp ready for more action. Generally the trips really tire the groups out, which is why we take a couple days to relax and do some in camp activities. With this group I think if we had the permits to send everyone back out on trail tomorrow, they would be jazzed to head back out into the wilderness.
After dinner we all finished packing in the gear from the trips and then gathered around pack-out deck for this session's Talent Show. The energy was again apparent as this was a great event filled with humor, talent and tricks. It is really cool to see individuals and groups come up with something to share with the group and receive a standing ovation for their efforts.
Tomorrow we will offer a variety of in-camp activities followed by our weekly campfire atop the rock looking over the Seagull River. On the rock we will say goodbye to some awesome campers, sing, tell stories and award the newest campers their very own Voyageur Touque.
