Today our 4 day trip left on their adventure. They are going climbing along the North Shore of Lake Superior, where they will go to several different climbing areas. Carlton Peak is a great little rock in the Superior National Forest where they will practice their skills and then tomorrow and Thursday they will head to Shovel Point! Shovel Point is a 'Sea Cliff' that drops down right into Lake Superior, they will hike up to the top and then get lowered down about half way before climbing back up. It is an amazing trip (my personal favorite) and I think all of these guys will come back with the rock climbing bug! Click on the picture to see where they are.
The other thing that happened today was that a group of Voyageurs from our Girls Camp arrived! They paddled to Camp from Ely, stopping in at Eddy Falls along the way. They had a great trip and were glad to arrive at their destination. They joined right in with the boys on a scavenger hunt and then used our slide! They will get a good nights sleep and then head back to Birchwood for Girls tomorrow.
