After spending yesterday learning all of the skills necessary to head out into the wilderness, the guys all headed out onto the trail. There are 3 trips and they will all stay out for 3 days and 2 nights; each group has a mixture of ages and experience level, which always makes for the best experience. Find your campers picture and click on it to follow their adventure.
The Famous Alpine Loop
We are very lucky to have the Alpine Loop right on our doorstep. This group left from Camps dock and paddled North into Lake Saganaga, from here they will paddle through Red Rocks Bay, through Alpine Lake, into Seagull and arrive back to Camp on Friday. It is an incredibly popular route that people come from far and wide to complete so we love being able to do it as much as we can.
Granite River Rapids
The Granite River Rapids trip drove about 20 minutes down the Gunflint Trail and dropped their canoes in at Magnetic Lake. From here they will paddle North down the Granite River and end up right back at Camp, it is a stunningly beautiful journey.
Superior Hiking Trail 4.2
This group will begin exactly where last weeks trip ended. They will begin their trip at Judge C. Magney State Park and hike north. They will go along the shore of Lake Superior for a while and then cut inland to head straight towards the Canadian border. They will hike almost to the border and almost to the very end of the Superior Hiking Trail. This is as far north as any group from Camp has gone on the trail so it is very exciting that these guys get to blaze this trail for us.
