Today we were lucky enough to have a couple of groups from Birchwood for Girls (our girls camp) come to visit us. Half of them have just finished an amazing trip, a loop from Lake Saganaga to Eddy Lake and back through Seagull Lake (Eddy Falls Loop as we would call it). The other half of them drove here today from girls camp to start their trip tomorrow. It is always so cool to have different people up here to experience the Gunflint way of life!
The day in camp today for the boys was another great one. Our Senior Leaders lead us in some activities this morning which everyone always loves. It was a beautiful sunny morning and we took full advantage of it. After lunch we did some regular activities and, even though the weather took a turn for the worse, it was a pretty perfect afternoon. Several people got their awards from the ranges; some very cool leather work was finished and we did get some swimming in. This evening we signed for the final trips of the summer! Two of the groups will leave bright and early tomorrow; one for Ely Minnesota and our seniors are driving all the way to the Porcupine Mountains in Michigan.
