We have had an amazing first couple of days here at the end of the Gunflint Trail!
When campers arrive with us at Camp, we make sure that everyone is up to date with all of their wilderness skills. This includes, setting up tents, filtering water, building camp fires and, of course, canoeing! More often than not this means learning a lot of new skills. I'm pleased to say that every single person did an incredible job and they are all ready for the trail tomorrow. We call this learning process Gunflint School and, although they were a few nervous faces at the word school, it is always a lot of fun.
Even though Gunflint School keeps us nice and busy, we did find some time to squeeze in some activities as well. There were already some pins awarded in archery and riflery, bracelets made in arts and crafts, and plenty of swimming!
They will all leave for their cabin overnights tomorrow and I can tell that they are all very excited. I'm already looking forward to hearing the stories that they come back with.
