The Alpine Loop is easily one of the most popular trips in the Boundary Waters, people travel from all over the world to paddle it. We are incredibly lucky to have it on our front doorstep. We do this trip all the time in so many different ways, we do it as a speed challenge, we do it as a nice introductory trip and we also have done rock climbing on this trip. This week, however, we are really going to take our time on the Alpine Loop. This group is going to spend 4 days and 3 nights in the wilderness; their goal...to catch as many fish as possible! They are entering the BWCA through Seagull Lake and will spend some time exploring the islands and bays to see what they can catch. After this, they will paddle around Alpine Lake and Red Rocks into Lake Saganaga. Sag (as it is known) is a very big, very deep lake with lots of coves and islands, which makes it an unbelievable place to fish. Oncve they have caught their limit of bass, pike and hopefully walleye, they will return to camp on Friday! We have a lot of fishermen here at Camp so I know they will have an amazing time.
