We hope that everyone had a great Holiday season and New Year. After a few crazy weeks, we are back with the latest in our Gift of Camp series. We hope you enjoy it and as always, share, like, comment and contact us with any thoughts.
The friendships that are formed at Camp are not quite like the ones we form at school or work. They are born out of a unique shared experience that most people cannot relate to. The bonds created when you have battled 3-foot waves on Lake Sag or completed your fist climb over Lake Superior are not easily broken.
No matter where you’re from, how old you are, whether you play football or are in band; at Camp, you are the best of friends. This bond doesn’t just go away at the end of the summer, it continues well into adulthood. We always hear stories or see pictures of people doing epic adventures with their camp friends, going to each other’s graduations and even weddings.
The years mean nothing to Camp friends, it always feels like yesterday that you were paddling the BWCA. Even when we are thousands of miles away and it is difficult to stay in close contact, you never forget these special connections and you will always have a community all over the world.
