Today, 2 trips headed out for their first multi-night trip of the year. One group drove an hour south of Grand Marais to Tettagouche State Park to start their 26 mile hike on the Superior Hiking Trail. They will hike North passing some of the most awesome rock formations on the North Shore and walk through some of the most densely populated moose areas in Minnesota. We let them decide their own route on the Superior Hiking Trail this week and I know that they are super excited to try it out!
The other group will base camp at Devils Track Lake, which is a big lake with great views and swimming spots. On Thursday, they will wake up early and bike about 7 miles to Eagle Mountain (the highest point in Minnesota) and hike up it! Then they will hike back down and bike back to the campsite. It will be a long hard but well worth it as the views from Eagle Mountain are awesome.
