Today was a busy day here at Camp! Before breakfast, our first trip of the week left Camp's dock to head for the Porcupine Mountains in the Upper Peninsular of Michigan. It is a long drive, but boy is it worth it! Upon arriving and checking in at the Park they will leave the van and start hiking. They will spend the next 5 days exploring the entire area. Along the way they will see several waterfalls, camp by amazing lakes and hike for about 17 miles along the shore of Lake Superior. The fact that it is a 6 hour drive away makes it a very special trip for Camp because we can't go every year. This group was incredibly excited when they left and I cannot wait to hear about the trip when they get back! Click on the link to follow their adventure.
This evening we also welcomed our latest group of campers. They spent the day on the long drive up to Grand Marais, where they stopped for pizza at Sven and Ole's. Then they completed the journey up the Gunflint Trail to the Barracuda and then to Camp. At Camp they were met by cheers and applause from the rest of the group. They have settled into their cabins for a good night's sleep, ready for a great day tomorrow!
