Cabin Overnights

July 11, 2019

Today all of our campers and counselors headed out on their cabin overnights. They will spend the next 2 days and 1 night acquainting (or reacquainting) themselves with the wilderness; practicing all of the skills that they learned in Gunflint School.

Avant Cabin, Raven Cabin, Shang Cabin will head into Lake Saganaga or Seagull Lake to explore, island hop and maybe even do some fishing. Far and Away Cabin are driving down the Gunflint Trail to Eagle Mountain. Here they will hike up to the summit, the highest point in Minnesota.

At Camp we use GPS tracking devices (operated by Garmin), that help keep us safe when we are on the trail. They also allow us to follow their route and share it with family and friends. It is an awesome feature and I have included a link to their map in the picture. Click on the pictures and follow their trip. Zoom in and press the (+) to see the route taken so far.
