Now Hiring Wilderness Staff
for Summer 2020
Greetings, we hope you find the answers you're looking for about working at Birchwood Wilderness Camp here. If not, e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Working at Birchwood Wilderness Camp is one of the coolest jobs around. You will have the unique experience of spending your summer in one of the most beautiful and scenic wilderness areas in the world – the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW). The BWCAW is the most visited wilderness area in the United States and for good reason.
As part of your responsibilities you will lead adventures all over the BWCAW and other wilderness areas in Northern Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. Some examples of the adventures you may lead kids on, are:
Canoeing and camping in the BWCAW
Mountain biking on rugged trails along Lake Superior and/or the Superior National Forest
Sea kayaking on lakes and rivers
Rock climbing along the shores of Lake Superior
Backpacking and hiking in state parks and national forests
Fishing trips in some of the greatest fishing spots this country has to offer
You will most importantly have the chance to become a mentor, role model and teacher to campers who think you are an awesome person. Over the course of the summer you will work with other unique staff members that share the same love and appreciation for the outdoors.
We understand that this experience is your experience too and we want to help make this a great and meaningful time in your life. We want to help you be successful, proud and happy with your experience at Birchwood.
A capable staff member will have the following:
Outdoor knowledge and skills and be willing to share that knowledge with our campers.
Want to teach and lead our campers by being a positive role model.
Live and work in a group environment that stresses teamwork, respect and safety.
Strong work ethic and a positive mental attitude.
If you would like to be part of our team at Birchwood, fill out our online application. We can't wait to hear from you and join us for another great summer.
